“Generation Resilience”: a project with the Royale Union Saint-Gilloise

A project for greater resilience in collaboration with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise

A few years ago, when the Covid-19 pandemic was still rampant, the government launched the “Generation Resilience” project. The goal of the project was to increase the resilience of Brussels' children and youth and to help them reconnect with their neighborhood and society.

Children and youth from vulnerable backgrounds were particularly affected by the pandemic measures, leading to increased isolation. Various organizations, both professional and voluntary, offered activities to provide new perspectives to Brussels youth and enhance their resilience. The project proved to be enormously successful and has continued even after the pandemic.

A powerful collaboration

As part of this project, some TADA youth recently received a tour of the Joseph Marien stadium of Royale Union Saint-Gilloise. They visited the locker rooms and learned more about the football club and the various jobs available there. The tour concluded with a short football training session.

TADA has been collaborating with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and Union Inspires for three years to connect with Brussels youth from vulnerable environments and to increase their resilience.

“As a cultural organization, we have a responsibility to take up in society. Some young people have more difficulties at school than others, so if we, the Union, can contribute to that even a little bit, we are happy to do so.” - Wouter Blockx, Executive Director of the Union
